From growing your own greens to sipping a Coke float as you stroll down Boot Row, sponsored by Tecovas, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ continues to expand opportunities for fun in 2019.

Aquaponics is a new exhibit that can be found in NRG Center Halls A and B right beside the Touch Tanks. The exhibit features a glass case filled with tons of tiny fish and a beautiful variety of leafy greens. Aquaculture is raising fish in a controlled environment, however, when you combine this with ponics, which means to grow in a soil-less media, you get a combination of fish producing bacteria to grow the plants.

As you walk down through the exhibit halls, stop by the Social Station outside Hall D to get your picture taken to be featured on the Rodeo’s new mosaic photo wall. The mosaic covers the wall behind the Social Station, spanning 12 feet-by-6-feet. Take a picture and keep your fingers crossed to win a prize. As more pictures are captured and placed on the wall, a Rodeo-themed image will appear.

Take a trip outside to Boot Row, sponsored by Tecovas, located in between NRG Stadium and the Champion Wine Garden. Eight Houston-area artists were selected to paint these Texas-sized boots standing 6-foot tall. Surely a sight to see, Boot Row makes a great photo opportunity!

A short walk down to the Carnival reveals the Titan. At 17 stories high, it towers over most of the Carnival and is the tallest thrill ride in the U.S. Reaching speeds of more than 60 miles per hour, you do not want to miss an opportunity to take spin on this thrilling new ride.

As you stroll toward NRG Arena and just before you reach the doors stands a new sweet treat vendor. The Float Saloon is one of the newest vendors at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving a $7 ice cream float. Take your pick of Coca-Cola, Dreamsicle or even Root beer floats.

Finally after a long day of sightseeing, watch the cowboys and cowgirls. This year, RODEOHOUSTON® is officially considered a PRCA event. All of the money earned by each cowboy and cowgirl counts toward their National Finals Rodeo qualification and PRCA world standings.

As you are watching the rodeo, make sure to tune in and catch the new RODEOHOUSTON song, “Welcome to the Show,” by Cody Johnson. The song is played each night during the opening of the rodeo performance. The song is on the 2019 RODEOHOUSTON Lineup playlist, available on Spotify and can be seen on YouTube.
