Mutton Bustin’
Mutton Bustin’ is one of the fan-favorite events at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. There are two options for participation during the Rodeo: Mutton Bustin’ in NRG Stadium or in The Junction.
Mutton Bustin’ inside NRG Stadium during the RODEOHOUSTON® performance requires advance registration for a chance to participate, while The Junction runs all day, and parents can register their child on the day they arrive.

REGISTRATION
Registration will open November 6 and run through November 17.
REQUIREMENTS
- Contestants must be 5 or 6 years old as of February 27, 2024
- Participants weight must not exceed 55 pounds.
- Children who participated in 2023 are not eligible to participate in 2024.
The Junction
Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up in the Mutton Bustin’ arena in The Junction.
REQUIREMENTS
- Contestants must be between the ages of 5 and 6.
- Participants weight must not exceed 55 pounds.
