Agriculture Education School Visits & MISS MOO
The Agriculture Education Committee offers a variety of activities to enhance student awareness of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Throughout the year, AEC provides a well-rounded educational program designed for elementary-aged students. Presentations last approximately 45 minutes. All lessons are TEKS aligned and add challenging, interactive activities to meet all learning styles.
A visit from Miss Moo is by request and upon availability.
Animals in AGVENTURE – This program is TEKS aligned for Pre-K and K and showcases the animals students can visit during AGVENTURE
Literature in the Garden – This program is TEKS aligned for 1st and 2nd grades and follows the adventure of Mr. Hare as students learn more about the food they eat.
A Day without Agriculture – This program is TEKS aligned for 2nd grade students who will spend time learning where the items in their lunchbox really came from!
The Buzz on Bees – This program is TEKS aligned for 3rd grade and accompanies the Activity Booklet. Students learn about the lives of bees and the crucial role they play in our food chain.
Tour of Texas – This program is TEKS aligned for 4th and 5th grades and covers the agricultural products of the seven geographical areas of Texas as well as their major cities, animals, plants, natural resources and geography.
*All programs are offered virtually or in the classroom.
