Building Tradition

Breaking Ground

One million square feet built for livestock, equine and the people who show up for them

We are building a landmark livestock and agricultural complex on our property along Highway 288. This represents one of the most significant private investments ever made for agriculture and education as well as the largest single facilities investment in our more than 90-year history.

The multiyear project represents a significant commitment to Texas youth and agriculture, expanding our footprint while advancing our mission to promote education and Western heritage.

FAQ

Questions, Answered

Are you leaving Reliant Park?

No! The Rodeo will continue to be held at Reliant Park: shopping, carnival, food vendors, activations — all of it. Some of our livestock and ALL of our horse show events will move to the new facility. The RODEOHOUSTON® competition will continue to be held at Reliant Stadium.

Why The Farm and not Reliant Park?

  • The Rodeo has more control and autonomy in decision-making for this complex.
  • It also allows for additional space to alleviate crowding and logistical issues at Reliant Park, specifically at Reliant Arena.
  • Fully addresses congestion and improves operations by keeping livestock trailers, staging and check-in at their existing location.

How will this impact the annual event?

  • This will improve comfort and accessibility for exhibitors, guests and volunteers.
  • It will  greatly reduce congestion and wait times while moving in and moving out.
  • It will create better hospitality and gathering spaces.
  • There will be dedicated zones for committee functions and family rest, including modern amenities that reflect the scale and prestige of the show.
  • This building will streamline logistics for livestock handling and show prep, with more flexible layouts for auctions, contests and receptions.
  • It will ensure continuity and expansion of mission-driven events.
  • This facility solves real, long-standing operational challenges and improves overall exhibitor experience.
  • It gives the  Rodeo more control, flexibility, and autonomy.
  • This also expands the Rodeo’s impact outside of its 20-day event.
