How do 20 nights of RODEOHOUSTON entertainment come together?

In Episode 10 of “Mission Rodeo,” Brittany Cooke, director of entertainment concert production, takes listeners behind the scenes of one of the most anticipated elements of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ — the entertainment lineup.

Cooke and her team oversee far more than the nightly stadium concerts, coordinating approximately 230 artists across eight venues throughout the grounds. From booking and artist hospitality to production logistics and the nightly stadium turnaround, she describes the work as “controlled chaos” and planning begins much earlier than fans might expect.

Creating the lineup is a balancing act. Cooke considers touring schedules, emerging artists, returning fan favorites, genre diversity and the unique requirements of performing on the RODEOHOUSTON star stage, all while building 20 nights that appeal to Houston’s wide-ranging audiences.

“We have hundreds of conversations. We put out multiple offers just to get to our 20 days,” Cooke said.

And while Cooke keeps the 2027 lineup under wraps, she offers a few hints about what fans can expect.

“I think there’s a lot of new stuff, some old favorites, some people that we’ve been working on for a while, and we got them locked in,” Cooke said.

From years of planning and hundreds of conversations to the moment an artist finally steps onto the rotating stage, Episode 10 offers a rare look behind the curtain of the RODEOHOUSTON lineup.

New episodes will be released each Wednesday through the 2027 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
