The 2017 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Go Texan Contests took place Saturday, Jan. 28, at The Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas. Top teams representing Area Go Texan counties and Houston Metro Go Texan areas competed in ranch sorting, washer pitching, dominoes and horseshoe pitching. Area Go Texan counties took home four out of the five championship titles.

QUILTS

A combination of colorful patterns and intricately sewn designs graced the 2017 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Go Texan quilts competition, judged prior to Saturday’s events. A total of 71 quilt entries created stiff competition in 14 categories. Quilts were judged based on overall appearance, workmanship, suitability/color, originality and design. Look for championship quilts on display in the lobby of NRG Center during the run of the Show, March 7 – 26.
