NASA

Texas High School Aerospace Scholars is an authentic STEM learning experience for Texas high school juniors to engage with NASA’s mission and become the next generation of explorers. Like-minded students complete an online curriculum in exploration and discovery. The highest achieving students are invited to attend a 5-day virtual experience plus a 2-day onsite to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX during the summer. Mentored by NASA scientists and engineers, students work in teams to plan a mission to the Moon and Mars.

George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation

Each Spring, the George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation awards seventy (70) scholarships to Houston area high school seniors for undergraduate study. The award is $20,000, disbursed over four years (or until the student graduates, if earlier), provided the recipient conforms to the requirements set forth in the award. The recipient may select any major at any four-year college or university in the United States.

The Terry Foundation Scholarship

The Terry Freshman Scholarship, known as the Terry Traditional Scholarship, is awarded to Texas high school seniors who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas. Award of the scholarship is based on a student’s academics, leadership (evidenced by extra-curricular participation and community service), and financial need.
