GRANTS

In keeping with the mission of the Show, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo provides grants to 501(c)(3) charities and accredited institutions of higher education to support programming that benefits youth, supports education, expands agricultural horizons, and/or preserves and honors pioneer heritage and cultures. To date, the Show has presented over $89 million in research, grants, and educational programs to more than 100 organizations and institutions in Texas.

Requests for grant funding are reviewed on an annual basis.  Requests for funding are not accepted outside of the published deadlines. 

Letters of Intent

The Show is accepting Letters of Intent from interested organizations and institutions that meet eligibility requirements for funding to be used in 2025.

Letters of Intent will be accepted from February 1 – April 15, 2024.

Final LOIs must be submitted by 5:00 PM on April 15.

All submitted LOIs will be reviewed in Summer 2024.  Organizations deemed as potential applicants based on the LOI will be extended an official grant application.  Submission of the LOI does not guarantee that an application will be extended.

Eligibility & Grant Guidelines

The Show provides grants only to Texas-Based 501(c)(3) charities and accredited institutions of higher education. In keeping with the mission of the Show, all grant applications must align with at least one of the Show’s mission pillars:

  • Benefit Texas Youth
  • Support Education
  • Expand Agricultural Horizons
  • Preserve and Honor Pioneer Heritage and Cultures

The grant program does not typically support:

  • New programs created less than three years of the LOI submission date
  • Religious organizations***
  • Lobbying efforts
  • Fundraising events including galas
  • Past operating deficits
  • Capital projects
  • Endowments
  • Individual memorials

 The grant program does not generally fund:

  • Other scholarship programs for post-secondary education
  • Other grant programs
  • Indirect cost allocations associated with the funded project

*** Faith-based 501(c)(3) entities are eligible to seek grants for non-sectarian initiatives aimed at benefiting a diverse community beyond their religious congregations.
