Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials are proud to continue their longstanding investment in the future of agriculture, awarding $1.4 million in scholarships to 70 Texas 4-H students this year.
“The 4-H students receiving these scholarships represent the future of agriculture, business, education and countless other industries across Texas. We are honored to invest in their ambitions and help create opportunities that will have a lasting impact on their communities and the industries they will one day lead,” said Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo President and CEO Chris Boleman.
Each of the 4-H scholarship recipients will receive $20,000 toward a four-year undergraduate degree for a total commitment of $1.4 million. These students were selected by 4-H officials based on their involvement with the program, academic achievements and financial needs. This is the 69th year that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has awarded 4-H programs scholarship funding. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the annual 4-H Roundup in College Station, Texas.
“Many of these students have spent years developing the skills and work ethic instilled in them through 4-H, all of which define great leaders,” said Chairman of the Board Wesley Sinor. “Supporting their education is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future of Texas and agriculture.”

- Thirty-six different fields of study
Top five chosen majors: animal science, agricultural communications, agricultural economics, agricultural business and biomedical sciences.
