The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo hosted its annual Celebrity Goat Milking Contest where local TV, broadcast and journalist personalities were able to face-off to see who would be crowned the 2023 champion milker.

Before the competition began, Caroline Collins with Fox 26 began warming up and preparing to enter the show ring.

“One time in college, I was on a reality show called Farm Queens and I lost a cow milking contest. So, I am here to redeem myself, but I don’t have super high expectations for my performance,” said Collins.

The Dairy Goat Milking contest has been around for over 20 years and is judged by who can obtain the most milk within the given time limit.

The overall winner and newest title holder for the 2023 Dairy Goat Milking Contest went to George Lindsey with 100.3 ‘The Bull’.

Lindsey, who previously won the competition in 2017, was able to almost double the amount of milk the other contestants had. There wasn’t a shortness of laughter and smiles as Lindsey collected his award.

When asked if he had received any tips or trick, Lindsey responded, saying, “I really just had to talk to the goat and calm her down.”

For the next year, Lindsey will be referred to as the G.O.A.T. and the Dairy Goat Milking Contest winner.
