The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ is looking to the future in the first episode of “Mission Rodeo” as President and CEO Chris Boleman and Chairman of the Board Wesley Sinor discuss the vision behind one of the most significant announcements in the organization’s history.
The episode explores plans for a new world-class agricultural complex along Highway 288 and what the project will mean for Texas youth, agriculture and education.
For more than nine decades, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has promoted agriculture, supported education, celebrated Western heritage and created opportunities for Texas youth.
“You look at the history of the Rodeo and it comes with huge impactful decisions every 30 years and we’re kinda there again…this is the next chapter of expansion and growth,” said Chris Boleman, president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The new agricultural complex represents the next chapter in that mission, with Boleman and Sinor discussing the long-term vision behind the project and its potential to expand the Rodeo’s impact.
“This is a mission driven building, agriculture, Western heritage, education, we’ll be able to program all of that… we’ll be able to host world finals and what’s really exciting is hosting more junior rodeos, high school rodeos, collegiate rodeos, things that help the kids, help the youth of Texas and of course support our Western heritage,” said Wesley Sinor, chairman of the board.
From agriculture and education to opportunity and legacy, Episode 1 offers a closer look at the vision guiding the Rodeo into its next chapter.
