Traffic Updates


Road Closures
  • There will be a total closure of IH 610/West Loop southbound from IH 10/Katy to Post Oak Road; including the IH 10/Katy direct connectors to IH 610 southbound from Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 25 at 5 a.m. IH 610 southbound traffic will be required to detour to IH 10 eastbound or westbound. Eastbound traffic, along with Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo traffic, should continue IH 10 eastbound to downtown to US 69 South to IH 610 West Loop. IH 10 westbound traffic will be encouraged to detour in the vicinity of downtown to access IH 610 West Loop via US 69 southbound or continue downtown for alternate destinations.
  • The US 290 east connector to IH 610/West Loop southbound will also be closed from Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 25 at 5 a.m. Drivers can detour by continuing on IH 610 North Loop eastbound to IH 45 South to US 69 South to IH 610 West Loop.

Drop-Off Locations

Public Passenger Drop-Off
  • Gate 9 off Kirby Drive
    • NOTE: Kirby Drive is closed at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends.
    • Driving Directions: Take Main St. to Westridge, and head east to Gate 9.
Lyft & Ride Sharing
  • Drop-offs and pick-ups are in the Green Lot.
  • Entrance Gate 13D off Murworth from the north bound lanes of Main Street is the only access to the lot. There is no left turn lane access allowed from the south bound lanes of Main Street.

  • Drop-offs and pick-ups are in Gate 14 Teal Lot off Murworth.

Limos
  • Drop-offs and pick-ups are at the southeast side of the Miller Lite Green Lot, Gate 13 off Lantern Point.

MetroRail

Catch a ride for $2.50 on the METRORail! With three rail lines, the METRORail makes getting to the Rodeo a possibility for a variety of visitors.

Northbound Service
  • Monday through Saturday: until 1:40 a.m.
  • Sunday: until 11:20 p.m.
Southbound Service
  • Monday through Saturday: 3:25 a.m.
  • Sunday: until 1:15 a.m.

Park & Ride

Visitors may park at the following locations and ride the METRORail, METRO bus, or a Rodeo Express bus, managed by the Rodeo, to arrive at NRG Park. The shuttles drop off at NRG Center or NRG Arena located on the park grounds. It is free to park at all lots, except for OST 1. Costs vary between shuttles. Please see below for more information. Handicap Accessible parking locations include OST 1, N. Shepherd, West Loop, Monroe and Maxey.

Trams

Trams run by Rodeo committee members offer visitors free rides to and from parking lots to the grounds, as well as to and from NRG Center and NRG Arena.

Daily Schedule

  • Blue Line – services NRG Stadium, NRG Arena and the Blue Lot
    9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Orange Line – services NRG Center and NRG Arena
    9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

  • Red Line – services NRG Center, Holiday Inn and the Red Lot
    8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Pink Line – services NRG Park and 610 Lot
    10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

  • Yellow Line – services the north side of NRG Stadium and the Yellow Lot
    9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
