LOCAL MEDIA PERSONALITIES BATTLE FOR GOAT MILKING CHAMPIONSHIP
Local Houston media personalities gathered in NRG Center’s East Arena at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ on Feb. 25 to milk goats against the clock.
Adrian “Hoss” Perez of the Dean & Rog radio show was the overall winner of the Celebrity Dairy Goat Milking Contest with his goat S’mores.
First-time competitors Anne Gallay of PaperCity Magazine and Timothy Malcolm of Houstonia Magazine admitted to using YouTube and other resources to learn the technique.
Veteran participant and radio personality from The Mix 96.5 Lauren Kelley said she even practiced on a cow to warm up for the event.
Three preliminary heats of six celebrities each determined which competitors would advance to the final round.
“This is the first time I have competed, or milked anything,” said first heat winner Brandi Smith.
The second heat was too close to call. The winner, Sarah Pepper from Mix 96.5, was decided by Rock, Paper and Scissors.
Perez topped the third heat that advanced him to the championship round.
