TEXAS WINE CELEBRATION

The sounds of Texas country music paired nicely with the taste of local wines at the Texas Wine Celebration Day Tasting.

Rodeo visitors tasted award winning wines from across the state, or find their new favorite from a winery close to home. Sweet or dry, white or red, there was a wine for everyone.

Hye Meadows Winery was serving their 2017 Boooom red wine that won best Texas Wine at the 2022 Rodeo Uncorked!® International Wine Competition.

“We love coming out here and just getting the wine in people’s mouths,” said a representative of Hye Meadows. “It is a great networking opportunity and a lot of people enjoy the event.”

Joann Armstrong has been a part of the wine community at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for a few years and has attended seminars on the grounds before.

“Busted Oak Cellars has a wine with tanakh in it. Any wine with that, I know I will love,” Armstrong said. She also said that it’s hard to not be surprised at what the Show will bring in next, as not many people expect wine at a Rodeo.

Texas Wine Celebration Day was hosted at Hillside Bar in the Champion Wine Garden.
