The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community.

Our Commitment to Agriculture

Established as the Houston Fat Stock Show in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has grown to more than 30,000 exhibitor entries. The Houston Livestock Show is organized by three categories of competitions: Junior Show, Open Show and Youth Show. The Show is not only the largest livestock show, but also sets world records at the junior market show auctions.

Over $660 Million in Scholarships Awarded

Since the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo began, more than $660 million has been committed to the youth of Texas and education. Each year, more than 800 scholarships are awarded to Texas students by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. As one of the largest scholarship providers in the U.S., the Rodeo has presented more than 22,000 scholarships valued at $660 million since 1932.

The Best Rodeo and Concert in Texas

Throughout the Show’s 90-plus years, entertainers such as Elvis Presley, Reba, Usher, Taylor Swift and George Strait have performed on the RODEOHOUSTON® stage. Each night a state-of-the-art stage and production occurs after the rodeo chutes close and the arena dirt settles. Be sure to arrive early and see the best rodeo and concert in Texas!

Western Heritage

Rodeo Champions & WESTERN Tradition

The RODEOHOUSTON Super Series is a 20-day tournament-style competition that crowns an event champion in bareback riding, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, and women’s barrel racing and breakaway roping. With a total payout of $2,533,500, each champion is awarded $65,000, plus previous round winnings, a custom-made saddle and belt buckle, and an invitation to compete at RODEOHOUSTON the following year. RODEOHOUSTON is an official PRCA NFR money event, with earnings from RODEOHOUSTON counting toward qualification for the NFR and the PRCA World Standings.
