Through its Achievement Scholarship Program, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is proud to announce $1.2 million in additional educational support for 95 of Texas’ top college students.

The Achievement Scholarships are awarded to current Rodeo Scholars who are working toward an undergraduate degree, have completed four semesters and at least 60 hours of coursework, and have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher at a Texas college or university. Each student will receive an additional $4,000 scholarship for each eligible semester.

“The hard work of these scholars not only earned them the title of Rodeo Scholar but also is why we are honored to continue supporting them with an Achievement Scholarship,” said Chris Boleman, Rodeo president and CEO. “They continue to represent the best of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the next generation of leaders.”

The Achievement Scholarships are awarded following the initial Rodeo Scholarship, for a maximum of $36,000 in educational funding per student.

At a glance:

  • 25% are first-generation high school graduates
  • 50% are first-generation college attendees
  • These scholars will attend 15 Texas colleges and universities. The top schools represented are Texas A&M University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Houston and Texas Tech University.
  • These students represent 44 different fields of study. The most common majors are nursing, animal science, agricultural economics, biology, economics and public health.

The Achievement Scholarships represent a share of the Rodeo’s annual commitment to Texas youth and education. In 2025, more than $28 million has been committed to scholarships, junior show exhibitors, educational program grants and graduate assistantships. Since 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $630 million to the youth of Texas and education. Additional information about the Rodeo’s educational commitments can be found here.
