TIE-DOWN ROPING
Caleb Smidt advanced to the RODEOHOUSTON® Super Series Championship with a time of 8.9 seconds.
 
Smidt credited his horse for the fast time. “He’s good, I’ve been riding him for 8 years,” Smidt said. “I won this rodeo on him, and we had a good start which makes it easier.”

Hamilton rode 1811 Anthrax to secure the victory. “I hadn’t been on him before and he’s bucked everyone else off,” Hamilton said. “But I saw a video of him and thought he was right up my alley.”

The top four from each event, from each Super Series advanced to a Semifinal Round. The top four from each event in the Semifinal rounds will advance to the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series Championship, Sunday, March 19. The remaining six from each event in the two semifinals will compete in the Wild Card Rounds, Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18, where the winner from each event will advance to the Championship. Each event champion will walk away with a $50,000 payout, in addition to previous winnings.
