Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Announces 2019 Go Texan Contest Winners The annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Go Texan Contest winners were announced Jan. 26 at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas. The event featured top teams from Houston Metro Go Texan Committee areas and Area Go Texan Committee counties competing in various Western activities, including ranch sorting, washer pitching, dominoes and horseshoe pitching. Winners were also announced from the quilt competition Jan. 19.

Junior Division

  • Grand Champion: Zach Harbers and Steven Harbers – Houston Metro Go Texan, New Caney/Splendora
  • Second Place: Audrey Thibodeaux and Charlee Zella – Area Go Texan, Gonzales County
  • Third Place: Sloan King and Clay Oncken – Area Go Texan, Grimes County

Senior Division

Quilts

Houston Metro Go Texan and Area Go Texan committees entered colorful and unique quilts constructed within the geographical boundaries of the Go Texan areas they represent. Each quilt is judged based on overall appearance, workmanship, suitability/color, originality and design. All 67 quilts entered will be on display during the run of the Show, Feb. 25 – March 17, in the lobby of NRG Center.
