DESCRIPTION:RODEOHOUSTON | Summer Committee Showcase\nView Facebook Event \nSaturday\, July 25\, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM\nLocation | NRG Center 600 Series\, West Side of NRG Center\, 2nd Floor\n3 NRG Park\, Houston\, TX 77054\nParking is available in the RED lot at no charge. \nThe Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee Showcase gives individuals an opportunity to meet with some of our committees and learn about their responsibilities\, as well as the requirements involved to be a part of an organization more than 36\,000 strong! \nThose interested will have an opportunity to sign up to become a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo: \n\nMust be 21 years of age or older\nDoes not guarantee a volunteer position\n\nPARTICIPATING COMMITTEES | This list will continue to be updated \nAgriculture Education\nThe Agriculture Education Committee promotes the Show mission by teaching agriculture education and awareness at local schools and other educational venues. Members volunteer year-round by developing curriculum and giving educational demonstrations.\n \nCommunications and Special Services\nCommittee members play a key role in promoting the Show. They conduct on site surveys to gather information about audience demographics for market research purposes. The committee also takes photos of many events including Calf Scramble and Judging Contests.\n \nDirections and Assistance\nMembers help patrons navigate NRG Park\, assist in safely returning lost children\, manage found articles and oversee the Lost and Found office. Stadium teams staff NRG Stadium Level 1\, Level 5\, gates\, and ramps to help patrons locate their seats and amenities. The Stadium Services Team handles Guest and Ticket Services\, including check-in of large items and resolving ticket issues such as duplicates or accessibility needs. \nMidway Ticket\nThe Midway Ticket Committee is a service committee that sells carnival tickets during the carnival’s operating hours. Our volunteers also staff the self-serve kiosk areas and ticket booths in effort to assist guests as needed. Our goal is to help ensure a positive experience for all of the guests in the carnival midway. \nRanch Sorting\nThis committee is responsible for coordinating the equipment\, livestock and participants in the Ranch Sorting National Championship-sanctioned Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Ranch Sorting. This event is open to all RSNC members. \nRodeo Express\nThis committee assists in the smooth flow of bus and light rail traffic at NRG Park and at off-site parking locations. Committee members monitor and direct bus traffic and guide passengers to their appropriate buses. \nSheep & Goat\nThis committee is responsible for greeting and working with breeding sheep\, dairy goat and market goat exhibitors during each year’s Show\, and assisting the superintendents in the judging rings to coordinate individual class competition. \nSwine Auction\nThis committee is responsible for collecting purchase commitments for Junior Market Barrow Show exhibitors who make the auction. Swine Auction Committee members plan and conduct a pre-sale party honoring the previous year’s champion buyers and the pre-auction day breakfast for prospective buyers.
