At Mattress Firm, helping people get a great night’s sleep has always been our passion. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our top priority was the health and safety of our employees, but we also recognized a great night’s sleep was even more important for our communities during these times of high stress and uncertainty. Our teams jumped into action to ensure we could safely serve our customers with essential sleep products through contactless shopping and delivery options. In early April, we partnered with Protect-A-Bed, a SureFit Company, to donate 10,000 pillows to healthcare heroes across the country. We then donated 200 additional pillows to a local university’s Rooms for Heroes program in which they offered dorms rooms as free housing for healthcare workers. We also hosted giveaways and sweepstakes to donate beds and pillows to ensure more members of our community would have access to a better night’s rest. As we all do our best to navigate this time, Mattress Firm remains committed to showing our appreciation for frontline workers and continuing to serve our communities.

Sysco Houston has a long track record of supporting the Greater Houston community during crises and while COVID-19 has proven to be an unprecedented challenge, once again we have answered the call. Since the pandemic began, our company has donated thousands of pounds of food to various charitable organizations including the Houston Food Bank, Star of Hope and Camp Hope. In addition to donations, we’ve provided volunteer hours to build food boxes for the Montgomery County Food Bank who was unable to store and accept additional supplies. Food service is our business and our industry has suffered a tremendous blow. We have delivered more than 70 pallets of food to our customers’ employees who have been unable to work due to restaurant closures and donated food to our own associates who have also been negatively impacted.

Houston is our home and we will continue to do what we can for everyone in our community.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, KSBJ has served as the voice of hope, offering music and ministry while empowering our listeners with ways to serve and encourage each other. On March 26th, 700 radio stations across the U.S. and Canada joined KSBJ for a Day of Hope – 24 hours of prayer for those affected by COVID-19. Tens of millions of listeners prayed around the clock, with a specific prayer focus each hour. KSBJ has also partnered with Houston Responds and area churches in Masks For All, with the goal of encouraging listeners and 1,000 churches to create and distribute one-million cloth masks to anyone who needs one. KSBJ and NGEN promotions teams have served at area mask and food distribution sites, handing out nearly 2,000 KSBJ hand sanitizers, and offering encouragement and prayer. The promotions teams have also delivered food with Gallery Furniture to at-risk families and provided 1,200 hand sanitizers to police departments and health care workers across our area. To encourage those at home, the KSBJ Special Events team created the Living Room Concert series, a series of weekly online worship events where viewers can enjoy live music and engage with leading Christian artists, interact with an online community and above all, pray and worship together with other believers. Our Prayer Team has answered hundreds of calls and emails from listeners around the world, praying about health concerns, job loss, and family issues. In the darkest hour, there is always hope.

Kendra Scott is a jewelry brand that was founded on three core pillars - Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy. Now more than ever, the company is working to bring all three of those pillars together to support those in need of relief from COVID-19.

Kendra Scott started by setting on a mission to feed the children that were going hungry, donating proceeds from the Everlyne Bracelet to Feeding America. To date, Kendra Scott has donated over 2.4 million meals and counting.

Now, local and national forces are asking for help with medical supplies. To answer that call, Kendra Scott is repurposing existing materials by donating their yellow branded bandanas to local female volunteer groups to sew masks to be donated to various hospitals in the Austin, New Orleans, New York and California communities.

Here in Houston Kendra Scott has donated a total of $118,188.16 to MD Anderson and Memorial Hermann's COVID-19 relief funds through curbside and by-appointment shopping.

Kendra Scott will continue to shift and add philanthropic measures to show that we are, as they we always been, here for you now and here for you always.
