For the Kids

Approach any of the 12,000 volunteers for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and ask them why they put in countless hours of hard work to make the Show a success. More than likely, you're going to get the same answer each time: "I do it for the kids.".

Special Delivery

In keeping with tradition, the annual "Pony Express" trek from Houston to Austin delivered an official invitation to this year's Show and a badge to Texas Governor George W. Bush.

Come and Get it!

Upon arriving at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, some people find its magnitude overwhelming. But above all the eye-catching distractions and the clamarous noises, the nose tells the visitor what to do first. Eat!

Denim Jeans -- As American as Cowboys

From such humble beginnings, denim jeans and cowboys have represented much of what makes Americans proud to be Americans- both are rugged and unpretentious, and they personify a rebellious spirit and individual freedom.

1999 Entertainers and Attractions

A star-studded and diverse entertainment lineup coupled with an outstanding listing of attractions and events should prove to make the 1999 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo the finest Show on record.

Red Raider Research

Since 1970, the Show's commitment to Texas colleges and universities and their research efforts has been unwavering. The Show was the first of its kind to contribute financially to agricultural research studies. As of today, the Show's support of research programs includes 11 schools- one of which is Texas Tech University.

Stay Tuned for Full Coverage

Media coverage is critical to the success of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Whether it's electronic or print coverage, the local media presents the Show to the public from all angles.

1999 Ticket Turnback Program

Can't make it to every performance during the rodeo? The Show's revamped and improved ticket turnback program allows ticketholders to return tickets in person, by phone or fax. These tickets can then be resold or given to charity.

Beyond the Dome

Four action-packed pay-per-view performances are scheduled in 1999 by RODEOHOUSTON, the broadcast division of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. These telecasts can be seen throughout North America as well as other select countries.
