Of the approximately 18,000 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ volunteers, one committee member will travel farther, faster and higher than any other in 2007. In her third year as a member of the Speakers Committee, Col. Pamela A. Melroy has an out-of-this-world day job. She is a NASA astronaut, set to
command the STS-120 mission to the International Space Station, scheduled for a late 2007 launch. Melroy will travel more than 4 million miles, faster than 17,500 miles per hour and higher.
Legendary RODEOHOUSTON™ performer Reba McEntire has been called “the leading lady of country music,” “a mainstay of country radio,” and “the most remarkable and accomplished
female singer of her generation.” Now, she has a new accolade to add to her long list of awards and honors — a star on the honorary Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ Star Trail of Fame.
