Selling advertising for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ can be traced back to the Show’s establishment in 1931. For more than 20 years a group of volunteers was tasked with the responsibility.
In late 1990, Dick Graves, an Executive Committee member and then soon-to be Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ president, believed strongly that the history and memorabilia of the Show should be preserved. It was this belief that led to the establishment of the Western Art Committee.
