RODEOHOUSTON performance

RODEOHOUSTON appearances: 2010

Known for her acting career and starring as "Alex Russo" in the Disney Channel's series "Wizards of Waverley Place," 17-year-old Selena Gomez has had a passion for music since childhood.

A Texas native, Gomez began acting at age 7 as a regular for two seasons on the television series "Barney & Friends." Her first feature film role was in 2003’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, and she went on to lend her voice to Horton Hears a Who! in 2008.

Despite her busy acting career, Gomez made time to pursue her musical dreams. She has recorded three songs for the "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" soundtrack, as well as tracks for "101 Dalmatians," "Another Cinderella Story" and "Tinker Bell."

In her premiere album Kiss and Tell with her band, The Scene, Gomez brings fun, empowerment, passion and righteousness to her music. Her songs range from a mix of rock, hip-hop and pop music to the occasional ballad.

Gomez has already won an ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) award, a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Blimp Award, and three Teen Choice Awards.

RODEOHOUSTON appearances: 2010

Justin Bieber, a 15-year-old Canadian soul singer, broke onto the music scene more quickly than anyone could imagine. After posting dozens of homemade videos on YouTube in 2007, where he put his spin on songs from artists such as Usher, Ne-Yo, and Stevie Wonder, Bieber racked up more than 10 million views.

Seven months after Bieber started posting his videos online, former So So Def marketing executive Scooter Braun flew the then-13-year old singer to Atlanta, where he met Usher, who at first dismissed the young talent. However, Usher flew Bieber back to Atlanta to listen to him sing, and Bieber was signed to Island Records in October 2008.

His debut album, My World, is an intimate look into the mind of a budding young renaissance man. The full album will be released in March 2010.

With his debut album posting four consecutive Top 40 hits and the first solo artist in Billboard Top 100 history to send four songs from a debut album to the Top 40 prior to the album’s release, the young star is bound to become an even bigger singing sensation.
